Maytag Refigerator Issue

I have a Maytage refigerator...I think it's about 5 years old. Freezer on top fridge on the bottom with a built in icemaker.

I've been having problems with water leaking out (seems to come from somehwere underneath the fridge) and the freezer wasn't properly defrosting. In doing some research online, I've already made sure the underside of the fridge is cleaned out (it was spotless) and the water supply for the icemaker is tight (it was).

Three months ago we also emptied the freezer and let it thaw out. This helped the defrosting issue, but there is a bit of frost in the freezer.

Sounds like the defrost only works some times. Make sure the defrost works as it should, if there is ice build up in a frost free fridge then you have a defrost issue.

Or the drain line is clogged and all of the defrost run-off is re-freezing.

The OP said that he was getting water on the floor and inside the fridge, that is what I based MY reply on.
