probably belt slipping. this washer has 2 belts 1 for the pump and 1 for the drive. replace both at the same time. very easy to change, tip it back about 6 inches the belts are on the bottom of the washer, no tools requireed.
this was a great washer. built for 30 yr' service..if the belts don't fix it call a local guy and have it repaired [brg's are going]. it's a pricey repair but there's nothing on the market today that's comparable.
