Maytag gas dryer problem

Hello,

I have a Maytag model #mdg8600aww gas dryer. Recently the loads have been taking a long time to dry. So I took off the front panel and noticed that the burner does start up but only runs for about 30 seconds and will shut off for 2 minutes, and then start up again, and run for about 10 seconds. It continually repeats the 10 second on cycle every minute and a half. I have cleaned the dryer inside and out there are no restrictions anywhere. I went as far as taking off the exhaust tube, but that didn't help. I recently changed the moisture monitor sensor, that didn't work. Could it be the high low temperature sensor? If not, does anybody know the answer to this?

Thanks
Rick

Maytag gas dryer problem

The cover is essential to air flow (learned the hard way myself) and must be in place for the dryer to remain lit.
