Maytag dryer problem

Back again same problem,I have changed the gas valve coils but the problem remain no flame, the igniter lights up but shuts off after a few seconds, all I got was a click sound and then it turns off,i checked all the thermostats and they are all good, all of them have continuity, there is gas going to the gas valve, I'm positive that's the case because I turned on the gas while the coil right next to the regulator ,on the gas valve was removed, and there was gas coming out of it, I'm really frustrated now as to what is preventing the gas from been release by the coils, help please.

By thermostats....do you also mean the over temp switch on the flame chamber?

I assume you have the schematic (sometimes a copy of it will be on the back or in the control panel)

There is also a switch in the motor that closes when it starts. This is the "Blower is running, ok to flame". I had the opposite problem...mine was sticking closed and letting the flame start without the blower running.....not a good thing.

Ignitor may not be hot enough. Are you getting any fuel gas into the combustion chamber? if not I would be looking at the gas valve itself as already stated in your other thread.

I'm now wondering if I had connect the new gas coils in the right format so I'm going to troubleshoot that area

how could you not hook them up right? the plugs will only go on one way

Gates 08-08-2012 01:46 PM

Its the older gas coils the one the wires

hardwareman 08-08-2012 06:34 PM

OK, then that explains a lot. If your not careful you can very easily wire them wrong. thats not an easy task
