Maytag dryer nfg?

I have a Maytag Neptune dryer, seemed to bite the bullet a few months out of warranty, making me; out of luck. Control panels are the only 'possible' repair option provided by tech support, but they are $700 EACH and you 'need' to replace both. Anyone know any aftermarket sources or 'tricks' to resuscitate my dryer? It just wont start, but gives a little 'kick' when I press the start button.

Just Google your make and model # and lots of sites will come up.
Another way is to use "appliance repair" as the key words.

Dryers are very low-tech.. a motor turns a belt that's wrapped around the drum, and that's really about it. I kicked myself the first time I replaced the belt and rollers for 35 bucks, after having paid 125 to have it done the first time.

Now if the control panel is bad.. well, that's just annoying, because that panel is probably the most high-tech piece of the whole dryer.

Yeah, that's the kicker, it won't fully start; just kicks a bit and trips it's internal breaker. One of those times I wish it was just an old-school motor/belt/drum type of thing!

Is a roller stuck? Maybe the drum won't turn correctly and so it's smart enough to stop trying.. just a guess. The fact that it tries makes me think the panel is doing it's job. Or at least it thinks it is. If you figure it out, let us know!

I'm having the same problem. Is the belt easy to get to?
