Maytag dg713 dryer

Hello,
I put in new guides, belt, rollers and idler pully.
Still getting a click from the area of the idler pully.
do you think it's the motor?
I didn't change the plastic spacer on the idler.
Thanks for any help.

Was that the orginial prob-clicking noise? old belt worn?..looking at top of drum the belt grooves should be facing up and belt postioned behind idler bar. installed pads correctly on glides-used rivet gun? other than if you installed parts wrong-just have to trouble shoot to see why dryer is making noise. should be obvious.

I did the belt right, and riveted the guides, (did not glue the cork to the guides, but checked them and they look ok.
The clicking comes from the area of the idler and it is a intermittent click , i only changed the pully, not the whole idler.
Is it ok to run the motor with the belt off to see if that is doing it?

I took off the idler assy and cleaned it.
Is there supposed to be a rubber washer on the sholder washer that holds on the idler assy?
I will reassemble and put a spot of grease on the spacer and try it again.

Clicking still there!! It takes about 30 seconds to start and gets more intense as it runs.
Must be the motor doing it. It almost sounds like a relay going off and on, but the dryer heats and runs ok.
