Maytag Bravos pump breaks from pocket change-help!
 

I have a Maytag Bravos washing machine. Money keeps getting in the pump. Its driving me crazy. I don't know how it gets in there. Then the pump cracks and I fix it with epoxy. Now I need a new pump but it is, apparently, not available any more. What can I do to replace the pump and how is the money getting into the pump. I can not afford a new washer. I am desperate.

#1 Check all pockets before doing wash.
If you just type the make model# on Google I'll bet there's at least 100 sites where you can buy that pump.
Have you contacted Maytag and asked?

I did find it on Ebay.
My main question is, isn't there protection against change going into the pump? I don't understand how its getting in there.

Bravo pumps are readily available, should not be an issue. If you leave things in your pockets they will end up in the pump. Like I tell all my customers, CLEAN YOUR POCKETS BEFORE EVERY LOAD. There is no type of filter or protection to elimate this problem.
