We're about to remodel a kitchen in a home we're buying.
-Need a smooth cooktop 30"
-Need an under the countertop oven (we can't use a slide in range because the oven can be less than 18 inches from the fridge)
-Sided by Side Fridge
-Over the range microwave that can vent out the top so we can use the existing roof vent that's there.
-All for under 4k total.
I've been looking at so much stuff lately that they're all starting to look the same. Any opinions, suggestions, whatever, give it to me.
Two word advice: Whirlpool. If you want (and can afford) higher grade finish: Kitchenaide. Thats the best brief advice. Most appliances work well regardless of brand, but after 20 yrs. as service tech I still prefer whirlpool. Any "scratch and dent","reconditioned", etc that fits yr plan should be scooped up, many of these items are returned for reasons unrelated to operation or condition and all should have full warranty.Be aware price bears NO relation to reliability. Consider a range hood as a seperate item and build-in a countertop microwave. The OTR microwave may need repairs costing more than replacement but your options will be restricted. Also all "over the range" plastic parts will cook and crack from stovetop heat. I could go on,oddly appliances have become an interesting subject. Hope that helps some, any specific ? let me know.
