LG Washer

I recently got this LG Washer - High-Efficiency Front Load Washer in White, ENERGY STAR - I don't know the model # . There seems to be a function to take out the water in the bottom of the machine. I tried to pull out the plug for maintenance and all I got was water on the floor. How do you go about maintaining the washer?

The following arrow in the image will tell you what I am talking about.

I am not that technical with machines. I have read the instructions and have called up LG and still wasn't able to get the problem solved.

Can someone do a video on what I need to do in this area? Thanks
