Leaky Dishwasher
Our dishwasher flooded the kitchen. The wash cycle was over, and the hot water pooled in the bottom of the dishwasher, and leaked out the bottom of it. We shut off the water supply to the dishwasher and got the floor cleaned up. It was fine for a day - not being used at all, but now today the bottom is filled with water again, and is leaking on the floor. Do you think this a dishwasher issue, or a pipe issue? How would water be filling into the dishwasher with the water shut off?

are you sure your shut off valve is working? It maybe still open a little bit otherwise it is impossable except for maybe it is coming back through the drain line. Is the drain hooked up to a garbage disposal, is the water clean or cloudy and smelly? My bet is the valve is not shutting the water off completely, which would mean you need a plumber to replace the shut off and an appliance tech to replace the water valve on the dishwasher.

How old is dishwasher? Maybe time to replace?

If there iswater on the floor underneath the dishwasher thenyour problem could be the hose. A hose connection can work loose over the years, or hoses can become damaged or cracked. Replacing the hose is very simple; it requires clamps on each end to keep the connection tight.
Another problem could be a water inlet valve which can also cause excess water to spill out. The valve controls how much water comes into the dishwasher. If it is not working correctly, the valve could be stuck open, allowing too much water in, resulting in flooding.
