KitchenAid Icemaker in door will not dispense

I have a KitchenAid side-by-side with the ice bucket and dispenser in the door. Model KSRS25CSMS02...The dispenser motor will not operate and dispense ice. Water comes though the door just fine. I was about to replace the motor, but I removed it and put the shaft back in a spun it. It rotated fine, not grinding, no lockup. Is it possible that somehow this motor is operable but is not getting power? How would I know? Or are these motors prone to failure after 3 years?

pull the two wires going to the motor, hook up a voltmeter , hold the door switch closed and then try the dispenser. It could the the dispenser switch.
