Kenmore Fridge warm, while freezer is cold

This is in addition to the following thread:

http://www.diychatroom.com/f47/fridg...evap-fan-5224/

I encountered the problem with my Kenmore Coldspot fridge where the fridge is much warmer than the icebox. I have removed the back paneling inside the freezer, there is not much frost build up on the coils, I cleared the ice blockage from the pathway. The fan is not turning, but rotates freely using my finger. I was placing my fingers in behind and I touched the motor and received a little shock (note should of unplugged the fridge). So I'm guessing the fan motor is the issue? Please tell me I'm right! I guess I don't need a voltmeter find a voltmeter to determine if the fan is receiving power.

If the fans not running then the fridge will not cool down.
Got a model #?

sounds like you have a bad motor but doing a voltage test would certainly tell you for sure.

Model number is a Kenmore Coldspot 106.XXXXXXXX. I read that only the 106 matters somewhere on another site. I was planning on contacting Sears for the replacement part. I got a loan of a volt meter to confirm my speculation and i have unplugged the fridge for the night before i go any further.

Glad I got a basement clunker which still keeps the food in check.
