Kenmore Elite Problems

I have a Kenmore elite that is a side by side, this is the third problem with this unit. The divider between the doors is so hot you can not touch it. Does this have something to do with the defroster? Is there is simple solution, I hate to spend much more money on this one. The last time it cost me over $300.00 so if this is similiar I should problably just buy a new one.

Not normally anything to do with the defrosting...
