Jenn Air Cooktop Burner - Trouble Lighting
I have a 30" Jenn Air model JGC8430CDS gas cooktop that is about 4 years old. Recentely, the front right burner from time to time has issue's lighting. It clicks, you can see the spark but it will not light. we turn the know off, wait a few seconds, try again and it will light. Sometimes, all is well.

THis issue is ONLY with the front right burner AND if i try to light it with say a match, it lights right away (so gas seems to be flowing fine).

Is there anything i can do to fix this issue or is the answer "call in a pro".

Clean the rod with some emery cloth or sand paper. That should improve lighting. If not make sure the gap is proper. If it still doesn't work could mean Failed igniter or failed control module

We have an ancient GE profile gas range, and occasionally one or more burners just won't light.
I've taken mine apart to clean and when we converted it to ng from LP. 1 if any part of it is at all wet, It won light. Sometimes I'm lazy and I'll wash a pan and put it back on a burner till it dries. 2, sometimes the cap that goes over the burner sometimes shifts, so try wiggling it a few mm around, and 3 make sure no food residue or even rust is on the bottom if the cap. Any slight change in the direction of the gas could cause it to not ignite.
