ice maker won't fill, frozen inlet line

how do I get to the inlet valve to check if it is closing all the way? my ice maker won't fill because it is frozen. Is it the solenoid or the inlet valve itself?

Unfortunately, not all fridges are the same, so without some additional information it would impossible to answer your question.

ice maker won't fill, frozen inlet line

I just had a service call on my icemaker. Turns out the icemaker was OK but the saddle valve flow over time became restricted. Tech disconnected the water line at the solenoid valve and ran the water into a bucket. There was very little flow and he said that is why the line was freezing up. He disconnected the line from the other side of the solenoid valve. Then we had a power outage so the line thawed out. When the power came back I put in a new supply valve and put it all back together and now I have ice.
