I just had a service call on my icemaker. Turns out the icemaker was OK but the saddle valve flow over time became restricted. Tech disconnected the water line at the solenoid valve and ran the water into a bucket. There was very little flow and he said that is why the line was freezing up. He disconnected the line from the other side of the solenoid valve. Then we had a power outage so the line thawed out. When the power came back I put in a new supply valve and put it all back together and now I have ice.
