Whirlpool GD5RHAXNT00 ice & water through the door. Pivot for ice dispenser door is broken off on right side. It is part of the main through the door panel which is no longer available as a repair part. Any ideas?

Ice Dispenser Problem

I have "repaired" plastic parts using other pieces of plastic. Drilling holes in these with a drill as needed. Cutting down to size with snips.

Gluing them to where they need to go with super glue or "melting" then to the other plastic piece with a soldering iron. (That really stinks, so do it on a warmer day when you can open all the doors/windows.)

Or drilling holes and using machine screws/nuts/washers to hold the plastic piece in place.

Whatever works!

Just sit and stare at the thing and imagine how you may be able add a piece of plastic. Or maybe cut out a section and add a piece of plastic.

Or maybe add a small hinge?

Some of these things can be impossible. But others, with a bit of creativity, can be made to work again.

Might want to post a picture or two if you can and maybe people would have some ideas?
