How to remove wires from icemaker

I have to replace the ice maker on on a Bosch refrigerator B22CS30SNS.This is a side by side. The wires are hard wired to the control module with no connector and the wires look like they go toward the back of the freezer.I do not see a connector. Before I take things loose or just unhook the wires from the control module, does anyone know the proper procedure? Also, is it necessary to replace with the same part or can I replace with another brand that matches up with the mounting holes.I was afraid that another brand might mess up something electrical in the refrigerator.
