Hot water heater, what do you think?


I took these pics last night. Does that blue/greed crud look like a potential problem? It looks like water seeped out at some point, then crusted over. There is no water coming from it. I just don't want it to burst or anything.



Just so you know the overflow pipe does not go straight across, it does angle down, then into the drain pipe. Just an odd angle I took the picture from.

Thanks for any advice!

I wouldn't worry about the relief valve pipe, but the connection to the cold water side looks like it should get some attention

I would take that line off the relief & see if it's leaking. You don't need the relief leaking . It could cause crud to build up in the relief & possibly keep it fron opening if it had to. If it's leaking you have issues. Bad relief or too much pressure
