We currently have a 1/3 HP unit that needs to be replaced - apparently there isn't a way to find parts for the brand. (It's a 'SinkGuard' brand unit - any info?) Two plumbing wholesalers have told me they haven't heard of it and can't get parts.
I'm trying to decide between a Badger5 and the Evolution Space Saver by Insinkerator. I do a fair amount of cooking and being able to get rid of food scraps using the disposal is important to me. I tend to want to grind things such as apple cores, potato peels, cucumbers, and some soft melon rinds (cantaloupe, etc - not watermelon).
Any advice? Price wise I'm looking at about 100 bucks more to step up into the Evolution series - so is the advantage of double grind and auto-reverse worth the cost?
