Help! My customer dissassembled her washer before she called me
Hey all, I'm actually a heating guy, but a neighbor asked if I might help her with her washer.

When I get over there, her Mom had tried to take it apart from the back.

It is a 3 year old GE washer.

We found the problem, but I'm having a hell of a time putting the one-piece cover (front and sides and top) back in place.

I came home frustrated - I need HELP

Anybody know how to reassemble one of these? HELP

I can't help you. But they will ask for model number and photo!

I’m sure there has to be a service manual with the washer, all washers come with them. No pun intended, but if she took it apart she should at least have some idea on how and what she did to take it apart. What make and model is the washer?

They are usually put together using nuts, bolts, screws…

OK - Well I got it fixed.

Turns out it is a whirlpool, not a GE - although she insisted it was a GE over the phone.

The entire cover, top, front and sides is one piece on these - possibly to discourage repairs/reduce cost as this is a standard top load unit, not high cost at all.

Well built inside though.

Anyway, turns out the front two pins to hold the box in place had rusted off or been torn off when dissassembled. I drilled pilot holes and installed two stainless self-tapping screws. Easy Peasy after that.
