What do you mean by won't change cycles? Can you be more specific? Is it a top load that fills with water then quits? Does it wash but not drain and spin? Or is it a front load that just does nothing?

Sorry but it is real hard to diagnose an appliance problem via the internet with no information.

sounds like you have a bad timer motor. Timer motor, if bad will not advance timer into the next cycle. You will need a new timer
