GE Washer Howls During Spin Cycle
I have a 10 year old GE 2.7 cu. ft. top-load washer (WCXR1070T8WW) that has just started howling during the spin cycle. I suspect this must be a bearing gone bad.
Is this something worth fixing, or should I just get rid of this washer and buy a new one? I was figuring it would cost $300+ to fix this, but maybe I am over-estimating?
If it is a bearing, cheaper to toss it and replace. Plus new machine washes better, more cost and water efficient etc etc etc. In fact at ten years old it has already served more than the "normal" expected lifespan.
