GE Washer doesn't agitate

Howdy...I have a 10 year-old GE washer model # S3500B1WW that fills, spins and drains but won't agitate.

I've removed the front panel and checked the drive belt - ok

Checked voltage to the motor during agitate - ok

Removed the agitator and checked the coupler - ok

Just after the initial fill, it acts like it wants to agitate, you hear the motor humming and the tub starts, then stops. Previously, it would slow with large loads, then medium loads then became progressively worse till this.

I suspect the transmission is locked up but am seeking advice from those who know better.

Thanks
