GE refridgerator with low water pressure

At first it wouldn't give any water at all but makes ice just fine. I thought the water line was frozen but when i took a look at the line beneath the fridge there where no visable problems. I told my wife to press the water button now to see if water would flow through and it did... Then it finally release water. Now it will give water, but with extremely low pressure. Maybe take a whole minute or more to fill an 8oz cup.

I did notice that whoever installed the plastic line from the fridge to the copper line in the wall left the plastic line very long. Would this cause a pressure drop?

GE refridgerator with low water pressure

I did some searching and found a lot of people had this same problem. Most people saythat there saddle valve was dirty or clogged...

Where and what is a saddle valve?

The saddle valve attaches to, and pierces the water supply line, to supply water to the refrigerator.
When I hooked up mine, the clerk at the home improvement reccomended instalation of a valve in the water line instead of using a saddle valve.
