Thermal fuse is the most likely suspect.

As you have stated, door switch already tests good. Usually the thermal fuse (safety device) is the next thing to check as ratherbefishing pointed out. Go from there.

If no results there, click on link below for additionally advice/suggestions. Link also provides parts testing/installing videos. Just type in your model number of your dryer first. Just a suggestion.

Can't help much without knowing dryer model number. GE does not use thermal fuses in their dryers.

ah...didn't know that...so is there a safety of some sort built in to the high limit stat? I know they're required to be fused in some fashion. I'm curious now because I have a GE gas that's about 15 yrs old and so far I've only had to replace the slides. The age has me expecting problems before too much longer.

As far as I know, there aren't any thermal fuses in GE made dryers. They use safety and hi limit thermostats that automatically reset when the temperature drops to their cut-in point. I've just perused various GE dryer service manuals and wiring diagrams and don't find any one time thermal fuses mentioned or shown on any diagrams.

Have you made sure the heat setting is not set to fluff?

"one click from board on no heat and two clicks from board on any heat setting"

Problem isn't that dryer won't heat, it's that it won't start (motor won't run). Heat setting has nothing to do with that anyway. Motor should run regardless if it's set to air fluff. Again, can't be of much help without model number but I think the OP has left the building. Probably bought a new dryer by now.
