Garbage disposal help

Have you tried to use the little wrench that came with it or a screw driver to manually turn it in reverse to see if that will free it up. And thank you for your service.

Garbage disposal help

Probably the next best thing would be to remove it (not really a big job) and turn it upside down. But you will probably end up replacing it. Maybe someone else will come along with a better idea.

You don't have to completely remove it just loosen the ring drop it down, turn it upside down try to knock every thing loose. After you get as much gravel as you can out then try reversing it by hand again. Up on further thought when you tried to turn it with the tool did it turn? When you turn it on does it do anything like hum? Have you tried the red reset button on the bottom? Have you checked the breakers in the box?

Garbage disposal help

It will hum then trip the red button on the bottom, no breaker or GFI issues, the tool would not let it spin at all

You'll have to take it off the sink and attempt to clear the obstruction.
Sounds like gravel is binding the unit

Garbage disposal help

I used a 4' wrecking bar to free up seized units that had not been used for years. If you cant break it loose with that much leverage then plan on replacing it.
