Question

Frigidare Side-By-side water dispenser

I have a Frigidare side-by-side model FRT 18G4AWC. The ice maker makes ice but I can only dispense crushed ice and water dispenser does not work at all. Any ideas about what I can do before I have to call a repairman.?

Frigidare Side-By-side water dispenser

The crusher solenoid behind the ice bucket may be frozen from moisture collecting on the shaft. A hair dryer may solve your problem. The water resevoir may be too cold and the lines for the dispenser may be frozen. Again the trusty hair dryer. If that dooesn't do it we'll have to get serious.

Frigidare Side-By-side water dispenser

I have a different model Frigidaire same issue. My son who uses a lot of ice frequently switches back and forth beyween cudes and water. Ice jams in the shoot a nd the water dispensing hose freezes up. When I clean out the ice shute within a few minutes the tube reachse room temp and voila water flows again, Seems to be a design flaw here
