Frigidaire Side By Side Intermittent Grinding or Growling Noise

Frigidaire FRS23R4AQ5

I recently hooked up the ice maker after it had been unused for several years. The refridgerator being used, just not the ice maker. Everything has been working fine untill recently. I've started to hear a sort of grinding coming from the top left, where the ice maker and evaparator are. After doing some research I had decided it had to be the evaparator but wanted to check it out before going and buying the part so I shut the ice maker off and pulled the ice bin out. It had been making the noise about every 30 to 90 seconds before but after I pulled the ice maker out and got distracted with something else for about an hour and half it had quit?? So I stuck a pan in there and turned the ice maker back on. Its made some ice but only made the noise a few times. But seems to be getting more often and closer together like it was before.

Would it still be the evaperator or something else?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

not sure I follow you. When you say evaporator what exactly are you referring to? An evaporator is just a bunch of coils made of copper, how is that going to make any noise? If the noise stopped when you turned the icemaker off wouldn't that be a good indication the noise was coming from the icemaker?

Sorry, should have been a little clearer. I meant the evaperator fan motor.
