Frigidaire FRS26ZSH won't dispense water

Our Frigidaire fridge won't dispense water. We had turned the fridge off for a couple of weeks and moved it to another room while we remodelled our kitchen. (We moved the fridge upright and gently to the next room). When we turned it back on two days ago, it started up okay, with all the lights on, etc., but then we smelled something like burning, so turned the fridge off again. Later when we turned it back on, the fridge worked and the ice maker worked, but it does not dispense water and the lights where it would be dispensed are not working. We called a repairman who said the circuit board has probably gone and it will cost between $150-$200 just for the circuit board. He explained that when the fridge was unused, the ice in the freezer melted and must have dripped onto the circuit board - which sounds logical, but does Frigidaire really design their fridges to allow this to happen. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we might do, or do you think it is the circuit board? Thanks for any help you can give.
