fridgidaire side by side dispenser

hello everyone, and thanks in advance for any input, A few months ago i bought a fridgedaire side by side fridge from lowes and love it, everythiing except the ice dispenser. Not sure if i missed something or something is wrong or maybe im expecting too much. But when you put your cup under to get ice it lets loose to where you always end up with some ice on the ground.Tried everything as far as cutting it off when cup is half full to trying let off the trigger and keep the cup there to catch and no go.It literally just dumps. Again any input is greatly appreciated

Also have a new Fridgidaire side by side. Mine (cube or crushed) seems to run an extra second after you pull the glass back to stop it. It is kind of rough, Ice don't come out real gentle. At first nothing and then BAM, a lot of ice shoots out. I always use a tall glass and that may help with ice flying to the floor.

JPC, does the maker continue to run after you pull the glass back or is it just dumping more ice? There is a flap that covers the opening when you remove the glass / cup. After you remove the glass, open the door and see if the flap has closed, or reach up into the chute and see if it has closed. Some flaps close too quickly and there is ice laying in the tray so that when you push the glass in place it over fills.
