Fridge ventilation concern

Hello all,

Long time lurker, second time home owner in need of advice on a fridge ventilation concern. The concern is that the space for ventilation is too small. When you see the pictures note that I jade to plane the right Side and top ( when facing) just to get it in. It's so tight that we can't use the upper cabinets but that will be another adventure. My question Is how much more ventilation do I need. Can I Bethany to the basement, the side, or both to be ok and protect my investment. Let me know if there are additional questions and see the pictures below.

I never like seeing a refrig installed into such a tight space. If your unit is installed with cabinets surrounding it, the recommended space is 2" all around (never happens). I dont' believe the sides are as critical as the top, your installation is not good for long term. You should remove at least 2"-3" from upper cabinet.

if you had the model number for your fridge, you could see the recommended spacing around.

ours only states 1/2 inch top and behind as it has venting on the bottom.

of course, more is better.

the top there looks way too frigging tight. a cabinet maker should be able to trim that down and make/trim the doors to make them look right.

Thanks everyone. I called lg and they recommended one inch on each side so I took off the right side panel and gave it some space. I feel better about it now
