fridge stopped cooling

eyalba Newbie   Join Date: Jan 2011 Posts: 1	fridge stopped cooling I have an old fridge (Montgomery Ward HMG 2170-4) in my garage and it stopped cooling. We hear a humming noise and there's a clicking noise quite often. In previous weeks we saw some fluid on the floor under the fridge. We thought it was due to melting of frozen food but we're not really sure what it was.

hardwareman #1 HAWKEYE FAN     Join Date: Oct 2010 Posts: 1,433	fridge stopped cooling clicking noise is the compressor relay trying to kick the compressor on, the fluid may or not be a refrigerant leak. If its in good shape I'd have some one look at it, but check that fluid first if its oily then it is refrigerant and shoud be scraped.
