Freezer Died?
We have a Whirlpool Side-By-Side (ED22TEXHW) fridge and freezer just stopped getting cold. Any ideas? The fridge side works fine; it just quit all of a sudden. It is 10 years old so any advice would be greatly appreciated. . . .

Freezer Died?
I hear a cooling fan running. I can't hear the compressor and now the fridge side seems to cool but cold. Both of the "dials" are set to the coldest settings. The coils for this unit are underneath and they are cool to the touch as well. Could it be a thermostat or has the compressor crapped out? And if so, what am I looking at for repair costs or should I just buy a new one??

Freezer Died?
Oh and when I adjusted the dials, I didn't hear any "clicks" which I assume is not a good thing . . . .

those dials don't click. Sound's like no freion or low. Sound's like a service call is in order. If you here the fan than it is not froze over in the back. When it freeze's in the back it will stop the fan unless it is in a little box protecting it. Look at the small slot's in the back and see it it is open if not and you see frost than you will have to take that panel off and defrost it with hair dryer's. Than look for a long coil inside a clear tube or a white plastic piece which would be the heating element for the defrost for the coil's . If that is clear than you are done. call a good repair man. Not just the first one in the book??? you know what i mean good luck
