Fisher & Paykel Dryer DEIX2
I bought this try about 3 years ago, and I love it....until recently that is. It constantly keeps tripping the reset switch so I have to remove the panel and press it. Then it may dry a load of laundry, and then no heat again and I have to push the reset again. I've vacuumed the interior, cleaning out all dush and dog fur, but it's not stopped things. I've gotten so annoyed that I rigged things so I can press the reset without unplugging the dryer, removing the top 2 screws, then the two holding the front panel in place, then the ground wire gets disconnected, then press the reset. Now all I do is use a flashlight and the rubber handlegrip on my hammer to gentrly push the reset switch and it comes on again, until the load is dry and I end up spending an hour or more drying a single load that used to take maybe thirty minutes depending upon the load.
I've read the info on the web sites trying to figure it out, but it doesn't appear as if the heater isn't working if it's blowing hot air to dry the clothing, clothes feel warm and right side panel feels warm mid way down, etc so I know it is heating up.
Problem seems to be something to do with the reset constantly going off. Any idea out there? Oh, yes it's the model that uses sensors to detect moisture in the dryer, when it detects no more moisture, it shuts off. If there is moisture it continues to run until there isn't. I really like this dryer and want to fix it rather than replace it.
