fan motor

I have a vintage W T Grant Thermostat reversable 3 speed window fan, that was in the attic. Worked great for 50 yrs. recently somehow a wire was sliced by the blades. All the wires were sodered in the motor and no motor information. Believe it is 1/6 hp with 1/2 inch shaft. I need to replace the motor and don't know what size to go with. It doesn't need to be reversable or variable speed, but does need the thermostat

fan motor

Can't you splice the wire? Grainger is a good source for motors. Especially if there's one near you and you can take the motor with you. There paper catalogue is easier to use than online, but here's a starting place
