electric water heater(old school)

My My electric water heater's wiring for the first element is fine, but when my friend checked the second element, he said the wiring was fried. My question is, is it worth it to fix and how complicated is it to fix?

Depending on what "fried" means...
but anyone competent enough to make this "diagnosis" should be able to do the repair in less time than it takes to explain it.

Changing out the heating elements (if needed) is where it can get tricky.

I would have to agree with that, take 2 minutes and pull 2 new wires.

Well wanna fix the problem then pull those two wires and add up two new.
Well as the question of the difficult then I suggest you that you must install those wire from your friend who have some how know about it...
