Electric Oven/ Fire Question

Hello, DIY electric oven/fire experts,

Is it normal for things (forgotten tortillas in a pyrex bake dish) to ignite on fire? I mean for flames to come out of the tortillas? That's what happened this evening in my oven.

Then I made the mistake (yes I know it was a mistake!) of throwing water on the flames in the dish. The fire went out but the pyrex dish instantly shattered and then I had to spend the rest of the evening picking out chunks of glass and charred tortillas from my oven.

Electric Oven/ Fire Question

Well....tortillas do have oil in them...get them hot enough....and they burn....

Look on the bright side.....your oven is clean, the house didn't burn down....and I bet you don't forget about stuff in the oven again

Electric Oven/ Fire Question

I don't know why, but this reminds me of something that happened to a friend.

She didn't have very much cupboard space in her kitchen, so she stored all of her Tupperware in the oven. One day, someone preheated the oven....
