dryer will not shut off

I have a kenmore dryer that will not shut off when the cloths are done. It just keeps going and the dryer and cloths get real hot. Does anybody have a idea what would cause this?

Timer is the first to check. Repairclinic.com is where I have gotten parts from for appliances in my house.

Last part was a handle for our Dishwasher, and even though I ordered it at 5:30 at night, got it next day.

Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?

Running on timed cycle? The moisture sensor on mine is malfunctioning, so we just run it on the timed cycle. If not, it will just run and run.
If it does not stop when on timed cycle, I would suspect the timer or timer motor.

need to know what cycle you are using. Time dry, sensor dry or auto dry. If it is time dry then you have a bad timer, if sensor dry the you either have a bad sensor or a bad timer if auto dry then you either have a bad timer or possibly a restricted vent

I installed a new push to start switch, also a new timer but I still have the problem.

The dryer will not stop in the time dry, sensor dry or auto dry.

the relay is only used to send power to the heat element.

Was looking at some older posts on this account. Was this problem solved? If so, what was the fix?
