dryer issue
My 20 year old drier finally got to be more to repair than it was worth.
So I went and bought a speed queen drier, like you would find in a laundrymat. It is electric.
Dries like crap. Takes forever. It does get warm, and have good air flow. Anything else I can look at that might improve this?
We do always keep the lint filter clean.

Have you cleaned the exhaust line to the outside?

yes, And there is also good flow at the outside of the house.

What type was the old dryer? Gas?
It may be a wiring problem?

The old drier was elecrtic also, and I used the same electric and same venting etc. after cleaning it. Starting to think the drier is just not a good drier, and may have to replace it again...

is this a new dryer? If your vent is not obstructed in any way and does not exceed recommended run length, why not call for warranty service. I would assume it would have a 1 year warranty

They looked at it and said it was ok, And then charged me for the service call. So I am taking a shot at it before I throw in the towel.... so to speak

Sounds like it was used dryer? who knows what someone else did before you got it? wrong thermo, screwed up wires, etc..That's a good unit and should be obvious why it's taking so long to dry. if vent is disconnected and still takes too long i wonder if the htr is getting 240vac or if someone changed one of the thermals on that htr assb and it's short cycling...if cust' tells a servicer, ie; the dryer takes two times to dry. it'll be obvious-they won't say dryers ok and collect s/c. get another opinion before you dump it.

New drier. Customer service at that place sucks. I will try another one,
