Dryer hose past 8'?

My dryer is in a weird location that requires the hose to snake from the outside vent around the water heater and up the back of stackable washer/dryer. It requires a little more than 8'. I combined 2 hoses with heavy tape. The back of the aluminum flex hose is directly up against the drywall. Am I in trouble?

Post a picture. Really should have used soilid pipe not flex pipe with foil tape not screws at the joints.
The pipe againt the wall will do not harm.
