DIY Refrig in process HELP!

Bottom freezer works, top fridge warm (no air). Read posts on here.
Took back cover off back of bottom freezer. Fan and duct to top OK.
BUT, freezer coils all frosted up. Fan comes on/off with thermostat.

Defrost these? How much frost is acceptable on the coils?

Thanks!

So I took my daughters hair dryer and carefully defrosted everything. LOTS of ice. I now remember the freezer was left open a bit last week sometime. I suppose that is where the ice came from???

Anyway, going to plug it in. Oh, unit is only three years old.

Put everything back together, turned it on.

Both fans come on...
After I went out to mow, came back in and the upper frige part was at 32ish. Hopefully I solved the problem!

No frost should be build up on the coil's. I bet the defrost coil is bad. If solid you can thaw them out for the time being. but they will frost over again. Call some one that can check out the defrost heater. good luck

??

So far so good today. If it frosts up again, I will know something is up...

Would the freezer being stuck open over night contribute to the frosting of the coils?

Thanks:thumbsup:
