DIY exhaust hood for grill
I am planning a screened porch and trying to price everything. And would like to see if anyone has built there own exhaust hood for a grill. Its a propane grill and since its in a screened porch figure i need an exhaust hood. I could easily make the hood but im more curious on the fan part. I would like the hood to vent outside through the roof. I was looking online and heard someone used a bath fan (300cfm one) relatively cheap without a light. But can that hold up to the heat coming from the grill?

You will need a fan capable of handling grease buildup and as well heat. Maybe a belt driven blower could work, if the motor is isolated from the air flow.
