Dishwasher Smell

My dishwasher is brand new but has a sewer odor if I don't clean it everyday. Any suggestions.

How long after cleaning a load of dishes do you smell this? First, I would make sure your dishwasher drain is not hooked in after your sinks P-trap. If that's not it, after running the next load, I would run a cycle with plain water to make sure all food stuffs are washed out of the pump. Wait and see if it smells. Does yours have the water heating coil? If you can run cycles without it, try that. We had to get a service tech to do this, after disconnecting the coil circuit we had an error light. These units are being built too smart. David

yeah, he smell could be from accumulated rotting food particles or from an improper connection to the drain.
