Dishwasher not Draining Whirlpool

Hey all,
WHIRLPOOL WDF310PAAS4 It is low end basic machine. All cycles work but the drain. So far I have checked filters, hoses, floats etc...

No errors on the CONTROL PANEL

However, when you PRESS CANCEL/DRAIN button, nothing happens:

One would think you hear the PUMP try to at least turn on, even if it is plugged/ Or at least click or something? Or maybe the pump is fried because it was plugged and burnt out it's solenoid?

My next step is manually draining the water and unhooking from A/C but I was hoping for a bit of input.

Thank you much in advance.

Re: Dishwasher not Draining Whirlpool

After a little more research, I have a new question:

Does a DISHWASHER have one or two pumps?

It appears to me that ONE PUMP is used for BOTH pumping the wash sprayers and one for DRAINING. If I am correct then if my pump is cycling the wash sprayers but not the drain, I am back to thinking it is the drain valve jammed or drain solenoid burnt out.

Please do not respond with links to appliance parts ads!

thanks in advance

Some dishwashers have two pumps, some don't. Yours is one that has two pumps. If you have an amp meter measure amps when you turn on drain cycle. If it measures roughly 1 amp your motor is either stuck or bad. I would look for a obstruction before I would I would buy a new pump. Those motors jam pretty easily.

Re: Dishwasher not Draining Whirlpool

Thank you for your reply. Two pumps makes sense for sure! I am getting the client to "cup out" the water so we can get it reasonably dry before we tip it up to clear/test that Drain Pump. Hopefully it is just something jammed.

Re: Dishwasher not Draining Whirlpool

I have fixed this LOW END DISHWASHER unit and for sure confirm (per BayouRunner) it does have TWO pumps. One pumps the SPRAYERS and the second pumps the drain. My issue was there was a large piece of a wine glass stuck in the impeller of the drain pump. It took quite a bit of careful effort to get it out, but it seems to be working fine now. The client is lucky that the pump did not burnout as looking at "the snap together pump assembly" gave me the impression that it was probably a difficult part to repair. It is sad that these unit are designed to be so throw away! Not to mention is the question of how a piece of wine glass that was at least 1.5 x 1 inch got past the filters in the first place?!
WOW! Anyhow, I contributed by saving this modest family's $$ and saving yet another pile of junk from the landfill.

Below shows us trying to get the glass out from the pump:
