Are different front load washer/dryers able to be stacked?

The reason I'm asking is the warranty company is replacing our washing machine since you can't buy a part for it any longer.

They've contacted us in regard to replacing it with a different brand all together. I'm fine with a different brand but something that I need to verify before I agree to this is that the unit they replace it with will need to be stacked, so that our dryer can rest on top.

Does anyone know how or if different model brands of similar capacity/size with allow for stacking?

This will be a big determining factor.

different brands do not stack very well. It can be done if you want to make your own brackets to attach the two together.
