Clock segment burnt out

The digital clock on my stove has a burnt segment. Not an entire number, but for example where the time would say 8:00 it shows up as 6:00. A new clock is $150, and a new comparable stove is $400. Not much luck finding used appliance clocks so far. Anyone know if its worth it to take the clock apart and attempt to repair it?

you could try checking in local appliance repair shops for a used replacement? that should be cheaper if it really bothers you. orrrr, go buy a 3"x4" flat, button-battery clock and some two-sided carpet tape and cover the malfunctioning one. heh heh

Once in a while, a solder joint will go bad where the display solders onto the circuit board. These can be difficult to get to, and unless you (or someone you know) is pretty good with a small soldering iron, they can be hard to re-do.

It might be worth a try to see if you can get to the inside of the clock though.
