Caught Blanket In Fan Blades, Now Fan Won't Spin... :(

Hello,

So our son has a fan in his room and a bunk bed. Long story short, he decided it was a good idea to stick his blanket into the spinning blades.

Now, his fan won't spin. It is still easy to turn the blades manually, but it won't turn automatically. The light still works.

Is this possibly fixable or do I need to replace the whole fan unit now?

Thanks for your help!

Off hand.... I know of no reset or trip... I think it's adios.

Maybe a sparky has an idea.... but new is less pricey than repair.... even if there was a repair anywhere.

This is where you say thank God he tried to put the blanket in and not his arm or something that could kick back on him.

Hope you get it fixed.

Some of the fans I know they will have a thermal fuse in there so once you bind them up the moteur will get very warm and it will pop the thermal fuse so that way it will not catch on fire ( I know our European verison do that with some of the fans over here.)

If that is not a expenisve item why not get the other one ?

Merci,
Marc
