Can this dryer be saved?

I have a Kenmore Elite model 110 electric dryer. I was using it one evening and at the end of the cycle, I unloaded my dried clothes. I put a load of wet ones into the dryer, turned my cycle knob and hit the start button.

It didn't start.

My inside light comes on and I can hear the cycle button making a rhythmic noise like it always has but the drum doesn't turn and no air comes out.

I took apart the control panel but I don't really know what to look for and I'm not at all comfortable with electrical issues. Any ideas what the problem could be? And is it fixable without spending more than about $75?

Could it be as simple as a broken belt? It happens all the time.

Possible and I like the sound of that diagnosis. Sounds cheaper than "buying a new dryer." LOL

I will definitely take a look at the belt tomorrow.

Maybe it didn't start right away because it needs to cool down before you start another cycle.

Well, belt is not broken.

@Sandra..... That's not the problem. I have tried to start it several times over the past couple of days and still no go.

I have an appt to take it in to be looked at.

probably thermal fuse in the back of the machine has blown, should be a very simple fix

First thing that I would check is the door switch.
