The best place to buy appliance parts
OK appliance seem to crap out from time to time - especially Kenmore appliances. So instead of buying the parts at Sears Parts - which are really over priced + shipping costs totally blow - there is a better place.
If you need appliance parts regardless of the brand try TopApplianceParts.com-
Much better prices + shipping costs are very reasonable.. For instance a part for my my Kenmore Dishwasher was $ 80+ shipping from Sears Parts.
From TopApplianceParts.com it was $ 22 + $ 5 or so shipping - so don't use Sears Parts - unless of course you like throwing away your money..
I've always had good luck w Ebay and Amazon. Replaced our icemaker water pump last year. Filters for your fridge can be gotten way cheap too. Also found the blower motor for our furnace online.
I do like Sears and Kenmore / Craftsman because I believe they will always stand behind their product. e.g. you ~can~ go to Sears to get a part for a Kenmore... but you could not go to Home Depot or Best Buy to get a part for an appliance they sell. They will direct you to the manufacturer.
I've bought some parts from Amazon that were defective, the seller ignored me and Amazon refunded my money. Amazon is great!
Appliance parts pros is pretty good, they take returns, have decent prices and tech support. Unfortunately, their online forum is a waste of time.
