Add an additional burner active light.

My elderly father forgets to turn the electric burner off sometimes. Would it be difficult to piggy back an additional BIGGER and BRIGHTER indicator light alerting him that the stove top is on? The little tiny red LED isn't enough. I was hoping to wire and mount a secondary light in an area quite near the stove but I don't know if it's possible. I'll take all the help you can give me.
Thanks!!

If you can measure the voltage/amp off the supply side of the light, I don't see why you couldn't give him something brighter...possibly a larger LED or a bulb.

P.S. let me know what you do. I need to make one for the wife...and she isn't elderly (25 yo.). We let one run for half a day at 350F.

If I find out how to do it, I will certainly let you know.

Can you get a time to shut off the stove?

The best solution may be to look at Assisted Living Facilities. Just be aware, like any service, there are bad, good and excellent ALFs.
